Ici, avec une pochette d'une remarquable sobriété (signée d'Hugh Syme, auteur de toutes pochettes de Rush depuis Caress of Steel en 1975 jusqu'à aujourd'hui), Whitesnake opère un virage "glam metal" aussi inattendu que déstabilisant pour ceux qui ont suivi les étapes de sa carrière. Un virage déjà entamé avec Slide It In (et son mix américain) déjà avec John Sykes (y a pas de hasard) mais qui fait plus que de s'accentuer sur l'éponyme multiplatiné dès la belle approximation FMisante zeppelinienne d'ouverture, Still of the Night, et qui ne fera que se confirmer sur une galette à la visée commerciale plus qu'évidente.
