Profitant de la new wave of british heavy metal qui déferle sur l'Europe, Marriott et Shirley reforment Humble Pie avec l'ex-Jeff Beck Group Bobby Tench et le bassiste Anthony Jones.

En avril 1980, la nouvelle formation réussit un premier album: "On To Victory" (#60 US), produit par Gary Lyons.

Un retour en grande forme avec un hard rock puissant, mâtiné de soul music, accompagné qui plus est par une superbe pochette.

Si l'album marche bien aux USA, tout comme le single "Fool for a pretty face" (#52 US), Humble Pie semble complètement dépassé dans son pays d'origine.

Humble Pie tourne passablement aux USA, partageant l'affiche avec Ted Nugent et Aerosmith.
